Former Queensland government minister Gordon Nuttall is set to stand trial on corruption and fraud charges.

Nuttall, 56, has indicated he intends to fight 10 charges relating to allegations of official corruption and perjury.

He faces five counts of corruptly receiving payments totalling $152,700 from Queensland businessman Brendan McKennariey between December 10, 2001 and April 1, 2006.

Nuttall also faces five charges of perjury relating to evidence he gave during a closed hearing before the Crime and Misconduct Commission.

Prosecutor Ross Martin told the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday it would be an uncontested, full hand-up committal hearing, meaning a trial would go ahead at a date to be fixed.

But the court is waiting on paperwork and a brief appearance by Nuttall via videolink on Monday morning.

It is alleged that Nuttall received payments from Mr McKennariey when the businessman was receiving funds, as a subcontractor, from two projects being undertaken with the government.

The projects included a Workplace Health and Safety training program in indigenous communities, commissioned by the Department of Industrial Relations in 2001, and a study on waste water in hospitals commissioned by Queensland Health in 2004 and 2005.
